We did all sorts of marketing for clients in 2020 but one tactic was far and away the most successful and cost-effective.
That’s email marketing.
If you’ve read any of my previous blogs, you know I’m a big fan, but this year solidified it for me.
In a year of a pandemic and economic uncertainty, email marketing provided a way for us to stay connected to clients and potential clients. And it paid off big for all of our clients.
Ya, I know, email marketing can be annoying, but if done well, it can drive people to your website, get people to make a purchase, download a lead magnet or sign up for your event.
We used email marketing for almost every client this year and with great success. Typical open rates were between 25-35%. But we’ve seen several as high as 55%!!! More importantly, customers were buying, donating and signing up for everything!!!
The key to successful email campaigns is to have a clear call to action. Use a “Buy Now,” “Donate Now” or “Sign Up Here” button to direct people to the action you want them to take. This will create a list of people who are interested in your product or service – in other words – these are your leads!
Consider using an email marketing software like MailChimp or Constant Contact to build your emails and email lists. These are very user friendly and increase the chances of successful campaigns.
