If I could give you one piece of advice to improve your marketing for next year it would be this…
Start with the end in mind.
In other words…
What are your goals for next year?
- Do you want to find more of the right clients?
- Do you want to increase revenue?
Create very specific goals for next year. Too often our goals include things like “I want to grow my business” or “I want to add new clients.”
Those are great goals, but they need to be more specific and they need to be measurable. So, ask yourself…what does “grow” mean? Is it a revenue goal? If so, put a percentage to it.
If you plan to add new clients, then specifically how many new clients do you want, what is each one worth, who are they and where will you find them?
Once you have your goals, you can create a marketing plan to get you there. Don’t get caught up in the term “marketing plan.” Instead, think of it as a roadmap. Plan out the specific things you need to do to reach your goals. Is it updating your website, committing to a social media program, or email marketing?
If you start with the end in mind, you can build a marketing roadmap to get you to the results you’re looking for in 2021. Without one, you will throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. And that’s a hard way to have success. Make it easier on yourself and create a roadmap to a successful and prosperous new year!
Wishing you all the best in 2021!
